Hello, Northbrook families! Teacher Appreciation Week is next week (May 3-7), and I'm excited to celebrate our teachers because we've got some of the best in the business!

Thanks to our awesome teachers, we've become one of the best--if not the best--middle schools in all of YES Prep! Student achievement at Northbrook is at an all-time high because our teachers are passionate, reliable, flexible, and solution-oriented. They have high expectations, they care about being good teammates, and they value equity. It's an honor for me to work alongside them.

To say thank you to them, we've got some fun things planned next week--like a parfait bar, made to order coffee, breakfast tacos, a Cinco de Mayo lunch, bagels, bundt cakes, and "Makin' It Through May" totes full of self-care items.

I know that many of you would like to show your appreciation for the impact that Northbrook teachers have had on your kids' lives. If that's the case, click here to see list of our teachers' favorite things. I know that a gesture of thanks from students and parents will mean a lot to them.

 

8th Grade Updates

Kemah End Of Year Trip:

• permission slips for our Kemah trip are due next Thursday, May 5th.

• We will need parent chaperones to go to Kemah with us. If you are available during the school day on Monday, May 25th and would like to chaperone, please email rosa.gutierrez@yesprep.org ASAP.

• NOTE: money for the trip is not due until May 19th.

SAVE THE DATE: 8th Grade Promotion/Graduation Ceremony

• Friday, May 27th, 6-7pm. Doors open at 5:45pm
• Northbrook High School Theatre
• We will send out an online form to know how many people from your family will be attending

 

 

Semester 2 Tutorials Reminders

There will be tutorials this weekend on Saturday April 30th for those who were invited.  Students should be dropped off at 8:00am and picked up at 11:45am. As a reminder, students should only attend the days they were invited for tutorials.   If you have questions related to tutorials in general, please call the Main Office or email Mrs. Martinez (hope.martinez@yesprep.org).  If you need transportation information, please call the Main Office or email Ms. Lopez (kenia.lopez@yesprep.org).  Thank you for your support with tutorials this semester!

We are in the process of creating our bus routes for the 2022-2023 school year and we need to know what students will require a bus next year.
